Piazza Wood Fired Pizza Ovens – A great way to spend time with your friends and family

A pizza oven is easy to operate and maintain, creating a glowing centre piece that friends and family can gather around for an evening.  So what makes a pizza oven different from any other outdoor cooking?

Good times;

Give yourself the simple pleasure of lighting a fire and cooking food naturally.

Self sufficiency;

Provide delicious hot food for your family during a power crisis.

Save money;

Cook a large Pizza from just $2.20!

Bring family together;

More than a cooking appliance, Piazza ovens are described as an entertainment centre. Don’t gather around the TV, bring the family outside and get them involved in the cooking fun!

Healthy eating;

Rather than setting meats into their own fats, the intense heat of the oven and grilling action can release the fats leaving the meat juicy but lean.

Built to last;

Unlike many barbeques that last only a summer or two, a Piazza Oven is built to last for many years!

Recipes

Pizza Bread

  • 7 Cups of Plain White Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons of Instant Yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon of Salt
  • 2-3 cups of warm water

Method

Mix all dry ingredients.    Add warm water bit by bit, you may not need to use all the water.  Your dough is better to be flaky dry than sticky wet.  The more you knead it, the less flaky it becomes.  Knead for 3 or 4 minutes.  Texture should be smooth but not sticky.
Leave in warm area covered with a damp warm tea towel.  Allow 20 minutes to rise.
Once risen, roll out THIN. Be sure to poke all over evenly with a fork before topping, to stop little heat bubbles in your base.
Always have plenty of flour underneath the pizza base (before you top)  Allows base to slide on and off the pizza paddle easily.
Also Note:  Always slide pizzas directly onto the granite when cooking.  Pizza stones and trays are going to prevent that delicious crispy base and take longer to cook.
Makes 6 pizza bases.  Recipe can be halved.
Pizza Italiano

  • Olive Oil
  • Red and Green Chilli Peppers
  • 6 Garlic Cloves
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Tasty Cheese
  • Crushed Pineapple Pieces
  • Sliced Cherry Tomatoes
  • Sliced Pizza Salami
  • Finely Chopped Fresh Basil
  • Ground Black Peppercorns
  • Ground Salt Rocks

Method

To make the base oil;
Put in a blender 2/3 cup of olive oil, 1 red, 1 green chillie pepper (take seeds out of the chillies first) and the 6 garlic cloves.  Blend for 1 minute and let sit for half an hour before making the pizzas.
To make the pizza;
Use PIAZZA dough for the pizza base.  Roll dough out thin and make the base the right size to fit on your pizza paddle.  Have plenty of flour under the pizza base before beginning to top with ingredients.
Drizzle a tablespoon of the special blended oil over the pizza base, keeping it away from the edges.  Sprinkle 50/50 mozzarella and tasty cheese over the base.  Now top with the remainder ingredients according to desired taste.  Make sure your toppings go right to the edges of the base!  Plenty of ground salt and pepper for seasoning.
Slide the pizza off the paddle and into the oven, directly on the granite floor.  Keep your eye on it as it will cook pretty fast!
Enjoy!
