Roof garden magic: before & after case study

A roof garden project by Virtuoso Landscape Design transforms an unused difficult space into a relaxing haven.
Weight limits to the roof were a concern, so French limestone paving was laid on a reinforced, lightweight, sand and cement screed. This ensured that weight limits to the roof were not compromised. The trellis screens are western red cedar and made bespoke to fit the space.
Ligustrum topiary and olive standards head up the planting scheme, and a retractable awning provides privacy and shade during the summer months.
